Does the Tuxedo Touch work as a keypad for the L5200?

The Honeywell Tuxedo is the most advanced keypad available for the VISTA panels. The unit allows the VISTA panels to use Z-Wave devices, as it doubles as both a wired keypad and a Z-Wave controller. Much like the Tuxedo Touch, the L5200 can double both as a keypad and a Z-Wave controller. The difference is that the L5200 is also a self-contained security system, whereas the Tuxedo Touch is only a keypad or a Z-Wave controller.

While the L5200 can support other external wireless keypads, since the Tuxedo Touch is made for the VISTA series wired panels, it is not capable of being used as a secondary keypad for the L5200. As of today, the L5200 does not yet have a second AUI keypad. For those looking to add an extra keypad to their L5200, the Honeywell 5828 is the only option that exists. This alphanumeric keypad works well, and can operate on just batteries, but we strongly recommend making sure to use the K0991 transformer with it, since while operating with only batteries the keypad will go to sleep after every use.
