Honeywell L5100 vs Vista 10P

The Lynx Touch L5100 is a wireless self contained control panel featuring a 4.7 inch graphic color touch screen and if connected to Total Connect 2.0 will display local news, weather and traffic. The L5100 supports up to 16 user codes (which includes master code and duress) along with 3 panic functions. The L5100 has 1 hardwired zone and 63 wireless zones and is compatible with all 5800 wireless series transmitters, including the 5828 and 5828V wireless keypads. When paired with the L5100 zwave module a user can control up to 3 thermostats, 4 door locks and zwave devices such as light switches, shades, water valves. A user can even control a garage door when a 5877 relay and 5822t tilt sensor is installed. The L5100 has Advance Protection Logic, aka APL which will send a signal to the monitoring station if the system is disabled during the entry delay time. The L5100 provides 4 options for communication. Connection to a land line, cell communicator (GSMVLP5-4G), WiFi communicator (L5100 WiFi module) and dual communication by installing both the cell communicator and wifi module. The L5100 is perfect for residential and small commercial properties. Being completely wireless makes the L5100 ideal for renters.

The Vista 10P is a hardwired hybrid control panel. The Vista 10P requires a separate keypad and can support up to 8 alpha keypads, like the 6150, 6160, 6150RF and the 6160RF to name a few. The Vista 10P has 6 on board hardwired zones and supports up to 16 wireless expansion zones when paired with a 5881 series wireless receiver or an RF keypad. The Vista 10P can support up to 8 keyfobs and allows 2 to be used without using any of the 22 zones. The Vista 10P supports up to 16 user codes (this includes the master code and duress). The Vista 10P will store up to 32 events. Like the L5100, the Vista 10P also provides 4 options of communication. Connection to a land line, a cell communicator (GSMV4G, GSMX4G), internet communicator 7847i, dual communicator (iGSMV4G, or you can use a phone line and cell communicator as back up). The Vista 10P is very economical and is ideal for residential and small business applications. It is not the ideal system to use for renters as it requires wire runs and is more of a permanent system.
