Honeywell Lyric Security System vs 2GIG GC3

The Honeywell Lyric Controller and the 2GIG GC3 are both excellent security systems. The Lyric Controller is the flagship panel from Honeywell, while the GC3 is the top offering from 2GIG. There are surprisingly few differences between the two systems. They can mostly be considered equal.

The panels are roughly equal in size, with the Lyric being slightly taller, and the GC3 being slightly wider. They both offer sleek and aesthetically-pleasing designs that should fit with virtually any modern decor. Both present a large and vibrant 7-inch LCD touchscreen.

There are only a few differences regarding these two panels. The Lyric Controller is compatible with the fully encrypted Honeywell SiX Series Sensors, while the GC3 is not. In fact, there are currently no encrypted sensors compatible with the GC3 system. That being said, both of these systems will work with Honeywell 5800 Series Sensors and 2GIG Sensors. This is because both the Honeywell Lyric Controller and the 2GIG GC3 will function with wireless 345 MHz security sensors.

The other major difference is that the Lyric Controller uses Honeywell's Total Connect as its interactive service, while the GC3 syncs with Alarm.com. However, Total Connect and Alarm.com are largely seen as equals, so this comes down to personal preference.
