How Do I Add A Zone To My L7000?
The Honeywell Lynx Touch L7000 has 1 hardwired zone (cannot be used as a fire zone) and 80 wireless zones and 24 dedicated key fob zones.
The Lynx Touch L7000 hardwired zone is a EOLR supervised zone which supports both open circuit and closed circuit devices and has a response time of 350 msec. Maximum zone resistance is 300 ohms plus EOLR.
To add a hardwired zone to the Lynx Touch L7000, power the control panel completely down by removed the power supply from the outlet and disconnect the backup battery. Connect one end of the alarm wire to the contact, connect the other end of the wire to the hardwired zone, the black wire to terminal GND (-) and the red wire to terminal HWZ1 (+).
For closed circuit devices; connect the closed circuit device in series in the high (+) side of the loop. The EOL resistor must be connected in series with the devices following the last device.
For open circuit devices; connect the open circuit device in parallel across the loop. The 2000 ohm EOLR must be connected across the loop at the last device.
If the EOLR is not at the end of the loop, the zone will not be properly supervised and the system may not respond to an open circuit on the zone. Refer to the Lynx Touch L7000 installation guide for programming instructions.
The Lynx Touch L7000 is compatible with Honeywell 5800 series wireless devices. To add a wireless zone each 5800 series transmitters have a built in serial number that must be entered into the control panel. There are 2 ways to enroll the 5800 series transmitter. Auto enroll or manually enroll. Which ever option is chosen, enter programming, select zones, ignore 1. New Zone as this is for hardwired zones and cannot except a wireless sensor. Scroll down to the first available zone. Press the available zone, then select edit, select serial number. To auto enroll, hold your transmitter in front of the L7000 control panel with the contact next to it. Pull the contact apart and the panel will beep. Do this a second time and the control panel will display the serial number on the touch screen with the loop number. Do it a 3rd time and the control panel will save the values. Name the zone and the device type and response type. Select supervised, then Save your settings. When backing out of programming be sure to Press Yes to allow installer back in. Please refer to the Lynx Touch L7000 install guide for complete programming instructions.
