How Do I Add Z-Wave Compatibility To My 2GIG GC3?

The 2GIG GC3 comes equipped with an integrated Z-Wave module direct from the factory so there is no additional device to install.

The 2GIG GC3 control panel supports up to 232 Z-Wave devices which include light switches, light bulbs, door locks, water valve, blinds and thermostats. There is no limit to the individual Z-Wave devices to be added.

Once the Z-Wave devices have been enrolled to the 2GIG GC3 control panel, users can control the devices locally direct from the touchscreen or remotely with an Alarm.com app.

To control the devices from the touchscreen, press the Smart Home Controls found on the bottom left of the touchscreen. This will bring up the Z-Wave menu.

Lights can be adjusted by pressing the Lights icon > select the light and move the bar to the left to dim or to the right to brighten.

By pressing the thermostat icon, users can regulate the temperature in the space by pressing the top arrow to make it warmer or pressing the arrow down to make it cooler.

To unlock a door, press the Locks icon and press the lock or unlock icon or swipe to the left to unlock or to the right to lock.

Users can also create scenes which enable different Z-Wave devices to work together. Example, you’re leaving for work and you can have your lights turn off, thermostat lowered or raised and your door lock. Users can control Z-Wave device remotely with an Alarm.com account. The 2GIG GC3 needs to be paired with a cellular communicator to connect to Alarm.com.

2GIG offers Verizon, AT&T and Rogers compatible cellular communicators for the 2GIG GC3.

The 2GIG CDMAV-A-GC3 is Verizon’s cellular communicator, 2GIG 3GA-A-GC3 is AT&T cellular communicator and 2GIG 3GR-A-GC3 is Rogers cellular communicator.
