How do I change my Lyric Gateway's Installer Code?
The Lyric Gateway, Honeywell’s newest all-in-one, wireless, alarm system, is their latest addition in the growing security plus lifestyle enhancement market. The system offers many of the same features as the Lyric Controller. It supports most 5800 series wireless devices, with the exception of any device that requires a House ID to operate, as well as all the SiX Series encrypted, bidirectional devices, but because it doesn’t have the Lyric Controller’s touchscreen interface, it is offered at a more affordable price.
Because there is no touchscreen interface on the Lyric Gateway, there is no way for any type of system programming, i.e., zones, entry/exit delay, key fobs, report codes, etc. For this reason, all system configuration must be done by the Alarm Dealer, through AlarmNet 360, as part of account configuration. By extension, this means you can’t really operate these panels without some type of AlarmNet account, because you have to create the account and register the communicator before you can perform any programming. Because the Installer Code is programmed via system programming, as opposed to via User Code programming, it’s not something that can be edited by the Master User, but instead has to be edited by the Dealer, as part of system programming.
Once the account has been set up, registered, and configured by an Alarm Dealer, such as Alarm Grid, the customer can download the “MyHome Gateway” app. This is a free app available in the iOS App store, and the Android Google Play store. Once the app has been downloaded and installed, follow these instructions to connect it to the Lyric Gateway. While running, the app emulates the Lyric Controller’s touchscreen interface, and allows arming/disarming, setup of Automation devices, User Code management, (for all but the Installer Code) IPCAM setup for local viewing (through the App), and so on.
