Check the cellular signal strength on the Qolsys IQ Panel 4 by clicking the grey tab at the top of the home screen. Then select settings > advanced settings > enter Master/Installer/Dealer Code (default 1234/1111/2222) > About > Cellular. The level will show under 'Cellular Signal Strength'.
The Qolsys IQ Panel 4 is an innovative panel that features a 7" color touchscreen display. It is available in two (2) colors, black or white. It comes with built-in Z-Wave Plus V2, Bluetooth, Dual Band WIFI, PowerG, and Cellular modules. You may opt for either a Verizon or AT&T cellular module. In addition to the panel color and the cellular carrier, users can choose either a 345 MHz Honeywell or 2GIG compatible, 319.5 MHz Qolsys or Interlogix GE compatible, or 433 MHz legacy DSC compatible model. The IQ Panel 4 uses Alarm.com interactive remote services. Alarm.com requires the connected panel to have an activated cellular connection.
In order for the IQ Panel 4 to communicate over the cellular network, just like using your cell phone, you must ensure it has a good cellular signal. This is where verifying the signal strength is beneficial. Qolsys has included a feature where the signal level can be checked to ensure that the panel will communicate properly. Alarm.com suggests a minimum of 2 bars of sustained signal strength for reliable operation.
To check the cellular signal strength on the Qolsys IQ Panel 4, follow the steps below:
1. Access the 'About' menu. Start from the main screen of the IQ Panel 4. Press the small grey bar at the top. Choose Settings > Advanced Settings > Enter the Master, Installer, or Dealer Code (default 1234/1111/2222 respectively) > About.
2. Check signal strength. The 'About' menu includes many options. Find and touch the cellular option. Then check under cellular signal strength. The level will be displayed as both a negative (-) decibel level and in bars. The bars are shown as X/5 bars, with "X" being your current signal level.
3. Exit. To return to the home screen, select the house icon in the tray at the bottom of the screen.
