How Do I Check the ECP and RIS Address On a Resideo Tuxedo?

You can check the ECP and RIS Address on a Honeywell Home Tuxedo by accessing the ECP Address Menu. You must provide the necessary Installer Code to access the Menu. You can view/edit the set ECP Address and RIS Address for the keypad. Click the checkmark in the bottom-right when finished.

The Resideo Tuxedo is a touchscreen keypad for a Honeywell VISTA Alarm System. The keypad connects with the ECP bus for the system. Therefore, it needs to be assigned an Enhanced Console Protocol (ECP) Address. The process of matching the ECP Address for both the Tuxedo and the panel is called "Addressing". Alarm Grid has a more in-depth FAQ about addressing Honeywell VISTA Keypads, which you can view here.

In addition to serving as a keypad, the Tuxedo is also an automation controller for Z-Wave Plus devices. Programmed devices can be controlled locally at the Tuxedo and remotely from a platform called Total Connect 2.0. The Tuxedo uses a Remote Interactive Services (RIS) Address to sync with AlarmNet, which then relays commands to the TC2 platform. Both the RIS Address and the ECP Address can be viewed and edited from the same menu.

As a basic summary:

Enhanced Console Protocol (ECP) Address - Tells the Honeywell VISTA Panel where to find the Tuxedo as a keypad controller.

Remote Interactive Services (RIS) Address - Tells Total Connect 2.0 and AlarmNet where to find the Tuxedo as an automation controller.

To access the menu where you can view and change the ECP and RIS Addresses, complete the following steps:

1. Access CS Setup. The ECP Address and RIS Address Menu is a sub-menu located within the CS Setup Menu. To get to the CS Setup Menu, start from the main screen on the Tuxedo Keypad. Click the Settings Icon (the gear) at the bottom of the screen. Then choose System Setup, followed by CS Setup.

2. Provide the Installer Code. You will need to provide the appropriate Installer Code to continue. If the Tuxedo is not set up with a VISTA System, then its default Installer Code is 4140. If the Tuxedo is integrated with a VISTA System, then it will use the same Installer Code as the system. The default Installer Code for a VISTA System is 4112. You will enter the CS Setup Menu upon providing a valid code.

3. Enter ECP Address Menu. Choose the option ECP Address. You will be taken to the menu where you can view and edit the ECP Address and RIS Address. You can also set the Tuxedo as the Primary RIS Device. Do not set the Tuxedo as the Primary RIS Device if you are using the keypad with Total Connect 2.0.

4. Exit and return home. If you changed any of the settings, then make sure to press the checkmark button in the bottom-right corner. Then return home by pressing the picture of the house in the upper-right corner. If you were just viewing the existing settings without making any changes, then you don't need to press the checkmark button, and you can just press the picture of the house in the upper-right corner to return home.
