How do I connect a Honeywell GSMX4G on a VISTA system?
The Honeywell GSMX4G is an alarmnet cellular communicator that supports 2G, 3G and 4G AT&T cellular networks to transmit alarm signals for monitoring. Unlike the GSMV4G which draws power from a wall outlet, the GSMX4G draws power directly from the VISTA panel's ECP bus on terminals 4 and 5. Similar to the GSMV4G, the GSMX4G connects to the ECP data connections on terminals 6 and 7 to transmit data from the panel to the Alarmnet server. This data is then routed to a Central Station and/or Total Connect service. View section 1 of the Honeywell GSMX4G Quick Install Guide for mounting and wiring instructions.
The GSMX4G is a cost effective way to monitor your alarm system while eliminating the need for a phone line or internet connection. However any GSM unit requires the use of a SIM Card which incurs cellular data charges. We offer a flat monthly fee of $10 per month for unlimited cellular data on any of our no contract monitoring options.
