How Do I Connect My VISTA 21iP to Alexa?

You can connect you VISTA 21iP to Alexa through Total Connect 2.0. To do this, the Total Connect 2.0 Alexa Skill must be enabled from the Alexa App. The user must provide their TC2 account info to the Alexa App. The user can then control their VISTA 21iP through their Alexa devices.

Alexa interacts with various devices through the use of Alexa Skills. These Skills are enabled through the Alexa App on any Android or iOS device. Once the appropriate Skill has been enabled, the Alexa App will walk the user through the process of syncing devices that are compatible with that skill. Since there is a Total Connect 2.0 Skill, Alexa devices can be used to control any Honeywell Alarm System that has been set up with the Total Connect 2.0 service. This includes the VISTA 21iP.

Complete the following steps to set up a Honeywell VISTA 21iP with Amazon Alexa:

1. Enable the TC2 Skill. Open the Alexa App on your Android or iOS device. Navigate to the Skills section. Search for the Total Connect 2.0 Skill. Click the Enable Skill button. The Alexa App will then walk you through the process of enabling the skill.

2. Provide the account information. The Amazon Alexa App will need to know the Total Connect 2.0 account information to send commands through the TC2 service. When prompted, provide the appropriate account information. Once the process is complete, a success screen will be displayed.

3. Test the Alexa device. Provide the following command to the Amazon Alexa device, “Alexa, tell Honeywell to Arm Stay." The VISTA 21iP System should go into arm stay mode. This means that the Total Connect 2.0 account was successfully linked with Amazon Alexa. The system can then be disarmed from the keypad or from Total Connect 2.0.
