How Do I Connect the August Smart Lock Pro to a WIFI Network?

You can connect the August Smart Lock Pro to a WIFI network using the August Connect WIFI Bridge. You will use the August Home App to connect the lock to WIFI. The lock should already be paired with the app. Connecting the lock to WIFI allows for remote access through the August Home App.

If you would like to connect the August Smart Lock Pro to a WIFI network, complete the following steps:

1. Pair to the app. You must first pair your August Smart Lock Pro with the August Home App. Please review this helpful FAQ for more information.

2. Choose Set Up Connect. Open the August Home App on your Android or iOS device. Press the hamburger button (three horizontal bars) in the upper-left corner.

Then choose "Set Up New Device".

Then "Set Up Connect".

Then press Continue.

You will now be ready to start the pairing process.

3. Plug in the Connect. Take the Connect WIFI Bridge, and plug it into an outlet. This outlet should be within 10 feet of your August Smart Lock Pro device. You and your Android or iOS device should also be within 10 feet of the lock and the Connect WIFI Bridge. Your Android or iOS device should be connected to a WIFI network. Once everything is in the correct place, press "OK, Connect is Plugged In".

4. Complete the pairing process. Go through and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the pairing process. First you will be asked to press and hold the front button on the Connect Bridge for five seconds. A slow blinking green light should appear. Press "OK, Light Is Blinking Green" to continue. Your phone will begin searching for the Connect WIFI Bridge. You should receive confirmation that it was found. Press "Continue" to continue.

You will then need to choose which lock you want to use with the Connect WIFI Bridge. Select the appropriate lock. Then select the WIFI network you want to use, and press Continue in the bottom-right corner. This should be the same WIFI network that you are using with your Android or iOS device. Then provide the password for the WIFI network, and press Done. The Connect WIFI Bridge will then begin connecting to the WIFI network. Your Android or iOS device may disconnect and reconnect to the WIFI network during this time. You will then reach a screen where you are prompted to test signals. Press the "Test Signals Button".

You should then get confirmation that your Connect WIFI Bridge is in a good location. Press "Finalize Setup" to continue.

You should then receive confirmation that the Connect is ready. Press "Continue" to finish.

You will then be taken to a screen where you can control the lock. Press the WIFI button to control the lock through the WIFI network. When the button is blue, then you are controlling the lock through WIFI.
