How Do I Delete a Zone from My Lynx Touch or Lyric Panel?
You can delete a zone from your Lynx Touch or Lyric panel by accessing the zone programming menu of the security system. Deleting a zone is useful when you no longer intend to use a wireless device with your security system. It is also helpful for freeing up additional zones on your panel.
After a zone has been deleted, you will be able to use a new device in that zone. In other words, a zone that has been "deleted" does not go away forever. Instead, deleting a zone simply means freeing up the zone and making it available for use with a new device. More importantly, deleting a zone removes a device from the security panel, preventing it from causing a trouble indication once the device is no longer transmitting.
Complete the following steps to delete a zone from your Lynx Touch or Lyric panel:
1. Enter into system programming. You can reach the programming menu for your panel by selecting "Security" on the home screen. Next, select More (Lynx Touch only) > Tools > enter the installer code (the default code is 4112) > Program. You are now in the programming menu of the panel.
2. Select the zones menu. To access the zones sub-menu, simply select "Zones" from within system programming. You will now be shown a list of zones.
3. Delete the zone. Start by finding the zone you want to delete. You may have to use the up and down arrows on the right side of the screen to find the correct zone. Once you have located the zone, click on the zone to highlight it. Then select "Delete" at the bottom of the screen. The panel will ask you if you are sure you want to delete the zone. Select "Yes". When working with SiX series devices, be sure to follow any further instructions displayed on the Lyric screen. The zone will be cleared from the panel, and the word "New" will be put in its place.
