How Do I Delete an External Keypad From a DSC Impassa?

You can delete an external keypad from a DSC Impassa by accessing the associated keypad zone and clearing out the ID number. This clears the keypad zone so that it can be used with a different keypad. You must know the system's Installer Code and the keypad zone number to do this.

On a DSC Impassa, programmed wireless keypads are assigned to designated keypad zones. To delete a keypad, you must clear out its associated keypad zone. A keypad on the Impassa can be assigned to any of the designated keypad zones, which are zone numbers 201 thru 204. Compatible keypads for the DSC Impassa include the DSC WT5500, the DSC WT5500D, the DSC WT5500P, the DSC WTK5504, DSC WTK5504D, DSC WTK5504P, and the DSC WTK5504PD. Before we give the broken down process for deleting a keypad, we would like to provide the simple and straightforward command process that you will use. You can delete a keypad from a DSC Impassa by entering the following sequence:

[*] + [8] + [Installer Code] + [804] + [3-Digit Keypad Zone Number] + [All 0's for the ID Number] + [# repeated until back to main screen]

Complete the following steps to delete an external keypad from a DSC Impassa:

1. Enter programming. To enter programming on a DSC Impassa, start from the main screen, and enter [*] + [8] + [Installer Code]. Remember that the default Installer Code for a DSC Impassa is 5555.

2. Locate the zone. The process for locating the wireless zone involves accessing zone configuration and entering the associated Zone Number for the keypad. After entering programming, you should enter [804] to enter zone configuration. Then enter the [3-Digit Keypad Zone Number]. This will take you to the appropriate keypad zone. Remember that DSC Impassa Keypads use zones numbered 201 thru 204.

3. Clear the ID Number. Once you have located the keypad zone, the ID Number for the programmed keypad will appear on the screen. To delete the keypad and wipe the zone, you must clear this ID Number. Enter [All 0's for the ID Number]. By entering zeros for the ID Number, the zone will be effectively cleared.

4. Exit programming. You can exit programming by repeatedly entering [#] until you are back at the main screen.
