Auto-Stay Arming is a feature available for most alarm systems. The purpose of this feature is to prevent false alarms. With the setting enabled, a user must fault an entry/exit zone when setting their system to Arm Away. If they do not activate an entry/exit zone, the system will automatically revert to Arm Stay instead. This because the system will assume that since no entry/exit zone was activated, the user must still be inside the building. If the user is still inside the building and the system is set to Arm Away, they might cause a false alarm by activating an interior sensor. Auto-Stay Arming will revert the system to Arm Stay mode in order to prevent this from happening.

Although the intentions behind Auto-Stay Arming are good, it can cause some users problems when testing if they don't know what they're doing. If a user has their system on test mode with a central station and they want to test their interior zones, they might become frustrated when their system will not Arm Away. The reason why the system won't Arm Away is because the Auto-Stay Arming feature is activating. To overcome this problem, a user can simply fault an entry/exit zone during the exit delay period, usually by just opening and closing the feature. Or, they can disable Auto-Stay Arming from within Programming.

If you want to disable Auto-Stay Arming for a Honeywell LYNX Touch System, complete the following steps:

1. Enter Programming. Start from the Main Menu of the system. Choose Security > More > Tools > Installer Code (default 4112) > Program. You will enter Programming.

2. Disable the feature. Press the down arrow on the right side of the screen. Then choose "System Settings". Locate the "Auto Stay Arming" field in the lower-right corner. Set it it to "No" to disable the feature.

3. Exit and save. Press the "Save" button in the lower-right corner. Then press the return arrow in the upper-right corner repeatedly to return to the Main Menu. Make sure that you select "Yes" when asked if you want to allow the Installer to re-enter Programming.
