How Do I Disable Quick Arming On a 2GIG GC2 System?
You can disable Quick Arming for a 2GIG GC2 System by setting Question 19 in panel programming to (0) Disabled. Once you have disabled Quick Arming, you will need to provide a valid code whenever you Arm your GC2 System. You can reenable the Quick Arming feature at any time if needed.
If you have Quick Arming enabled, you will need to provide the system Master Code or a valid user code whenever you go to Arm Away or Arm Stay. Failure to provide a valid code will make it impossible to Arm the system from the panel. By enabling Quick Arming, you can Arm your system much more quickly. This is because you will not have to provide a valid code to complete the Arming process. Please note that you should never use your Duress Code (user slot 8) to Arm your system. Doing so will result in immediate silent dispatch if you system is monitored by a central station.
If you want to disable Quick Arming for your GC2 System, complete the following steps:
1. Enter programming. Start from the main screen of your GC2. Press the 2GIG logo in the lower-right corner. Enter in the Installer Code (1561 by default). Then choose system configuration. You will enter system programming.
2. Disable Quick Arming. Press the "Go To" button towards the right side of the screen in the center. When asked for the Question Number, enter "19". This will pull up the Quick Arming option. Enter in "0" to select (0) Disabled. This will disable Quick Arming.
3. Save your changes. Press "End" in the lower-right corner. You will be taken to a summary screen. Make sure the box for "Save Changes" is marked. Press "Exit" in the bottom-right corner. The system will reboot to apply and save the changes. If you exit without saving your changes, then the previous Quick Arming setting will remain in effect.
