How Do I Enroll a Kwikset 910 on an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5?
You can enroll a Kwikset 910 on an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5 by putting the panel into its Z-Wave inclusion mode and then activating the inclusion function on the lock. You should clear the lock before attempting to learn it in. Also, a Z-Wave controller is needed to support the lock.
Complete the following steps to enroll a Kwikset 910 on an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5 System:
1. Enter programming. Start from the main screen of the Simon XTi or XTi-5 System. Click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen to access the settings menu. Scroll down until you find the "Programming" option, and click the "Enter" button. You must then provide the Installer Code for the system. The default code is 4321. Once you have entered in the Installer Code, press the "OK" button to enter into system programming.
2. Clear the lock. You should always clear a Z-Wave device from the Z-Wave network before attempting to learn it in with a new alarm system. Even if the device is brand-new, it may have been enrolled with a Z-Wave network as part of factory testing. To clear the lock, first choose the option "Interactive Services". Then select "Z-Wave". Finally, select "Remove Device". The message "Press button on device to remove..." will appear. This indicates that the panel is in its Z-Wave exclusion mode.
The lock can then be cleared by activating its inclusion function. For the Kwikset 910, there is an inclusion button found on the back of the device. The button is labeled "A". After pressing this button, the panel should soon recognize the device and delete it from the network. The panel will display the message "Device deleted" once this occurs. You can then press the "Close" button in the upper-right corner of the touchscreen. Please note that you may need to bring the lock close to the panel for it to be properly recognized and deleted.
3. Enroll the lock. Press the "Add Device" option. The system will display "Press button on device to add...". This message indicates that the Simon XTi or XTi-5 is in its Z-Wave inclusion mode. With the system in this mode, activate the inclusion function of the Kwikset 910 by pressing the button on the back. The system should recognize the lock and acknowledge that a new device has been added. A device number will be shown. You may want to write down this device number for future reference. Again, you may need to bring the lock close to the panel in order for it to be learned in with the panel successfully.
4. Test the lock. Once the lock has been enrolled, it should then be tested to make sure that it has been configured properly. The lock should be installed in the door so that the door can be locked and unlocked. When testing the lock, use either the system itself or the Alarm.com interactive service. Make sure that you can successfully send Z-Wave commands to lock and unlock the door.
