How Do I Exclude a Schlage Z-Wave Lock from the Honeywell Lyric?
You can exclude a Schlage Z-Wave Lock from the Honeywell Lyric by entering the lock's unique programming code, followed by [0] while the Lyric System is in its Z-Wave exclusion mode. This will wipe any residual Z-Wave data from the lock and make it easier to pair with a Z-Wave network.
Clearing a Z-Wave device is usually done before ultimately pairing it with a Z-Wave network. All existing Z-Wave information for the device will be cleared so that it can be added with the network successfully. For the Schlage Z-Wave Locks, the exclusion process is the same as the inclusion process. You simply enter the programming code, followed by [0] to send an inclusion/exclusion signal to the Z-Wave hub so that it can be included or excluded as needed. The programming code can be found on a white sticker underneath the device's cover. You will need a screwdriver to access it. We strongly advise writing down this programming code and keeping it somewhere safe.
Remember that you should have the lock in close proximity to the Lyric when performing the exclusion process. Complete the following steps to exclude a Schlage Z-Wave Lock from the Honeywell Lyric:
1. Get the programming code. You will need to open up your Schlage Lock to get its programming code if you do not already have it. This code is unique to that specific lock, and it will be different for each individual lock that you use. Write down the code, and keep it somewhere secure. This way, you won't need to open up the lock every time you want to get the code.
2. Access Lyric exclusion mode. Turn your attention to the Lyric System. From the main screen, select automation, then the down arrow on the right, then Tools, and then Exclude Devices. This will put the Lyric into its exclusion mode so that devices can be cleared from the Z-Wave network.
3. Exclude the lock. With the Lyric in its Z-Wave exclusion mode, enter the programming code that you obtained in Step 1. Then enter the [0] key. The lock will send a Z-Wave signal to the Lyric. Since the Lyric is in its exclusion mode, it will then clear the lock from the network.
