How Do I Exclude My August Smart Lock Pro From My Honeywell Lyric?
You can exclude your August Smart Lock Pro from your Honeywell Lyric by using the August Home App on your Android or iOS device. You must access the Z-Wave settings option and remove the device from the network. This is only possible if the lock is currently paired with a Z-Wave network.
As a Z-Wave lock, the August Smart Lock Pro can only be paired with one Z-Wave hub at a time. If you want to pair the lock with a new network, then you must first clear it from its existing network. You will need the August Home App on your Android or iOS device, and you should have the lock in close proximity to the Lyric System it is paired with*. Once you exclude the lock from the network, you should be able to then pair it with a new network as needed.
For this FAQ, we will assume that the lock is already paired with your Lyric System. If you are having trouble deleting the lock from your Lyric System, then you may want to try factory defaulting the lock as a last resort. But in most cases, you should be able to clear the August Smart Lock Pro from a Lyric System by completing the following steps:
1. Access Z-Wave lock settings. Open up the August Home App on your Android or iOS device. Navigate to the lock you are trying to clear from the network. Once you have found the lock, click the gear icon (settings) in the bottom-right corner. Then choose Lock Settings. This will take you to the menu where you can configure the lock. From there, you want to choose the option for Z-Wave Settings.
2. Access Lyric exclusion mode. You should get a message on the app saying that your lock is connected to a Z-Wave hub. Before continuing on the app, you must now put the Lyric System into its Z-Wave exclusion mode. On the Lyric System, choose Automation. Then press the down arrow on the right side of the screen. Then select Tools, followed by Exclude Devices. The Lyric will now be in its exclusion mode.
3. Exclude the lock. With the Lyric in its exclusion mode, press the Remove Z-Wave Device button in the August Home App.
Then select the option "My Hub is in Exclusion Mode".
You should then get a message on the August App stating that the lock has been disconnected from the Z-Wave hub. Z-Wave network settings have been removed from the lock, and it is ready to be included into a new Z-Wave network, or re-included to the Lyric.
*These steps can be followed to remove Z-Wave network settings from ANY Z-Wave controller. The lock does not necessarily have to be paired with the Lyric panel in order for the Lyric panel to be able to exclude it.
