How Do I Factory Default The Qolsys IQ Hardwire 16-F?
You can factory default the Qolsys IQ Hardwire 16-F by powering the module completely down and then holding down its Memory Reset button while powering the device back on. After three (3) seconds of holding down the button, the LED lights on the module should begin rapidly blinking.
Performing a factory default on the Qolsys IQ Hardwire 16-F is also referred to as clearing the device memory. This process should be completed if you are using the device for the first time. It should also be performed if you are switching resistor modes. One less common reason to factory default the module is as a final troubleshooting step if it isn't working properly. After you factory default the 16-F, the module must be re-enrolled with the system. Any existing zones associated with the 16-F that are used on the system should be deleted and then re-enrolled after the factory defaulting process is complete.
The following steps should be completed to factory default the Qolsys IQ Hardwire 16-F:
1. Power down the 16-F. You can power down the Qolsys IQ Hardwire 16-F by disconnecting its backup battery and unplugging its transformer. It is advised that you disconnect the backup battery before unplugging the transformer. You can confirm that the device has been powered down by checking to see that there are no LED lights lit on the module. You should wait about 20 seconds after powering down before continuing to the next step.
2. Perform the default. Locate the Memory Reset button on the module. Press and hold this button while the 16-F module is still powered down. With the button still held, reconnect the transformer to reapply power. It may be helpful to have a second person working with you. Keep the button held down as power is applied. Continue to hold until the Processor, RF Xmit, and EOL CAL LED lights all begin flashing. This will take about three (3) seconds after reapplying power. The flashing lights indicate that the defaulting process was successful. If you want to reconnect the backup battery, now is a great time.
3. Re-enroll to panel. Since you performed a factory default, the 16-F module will no longer be enrolled with the panel. You must re-enroll the module with your system, and you will also need to re-program any zones used with the module. Any zones that were previously set up on the system through the 16-F should be deleted, as you will be essentially be rebuilding them from scratch.
