How Do I Find the IMEI Number of A Qolsys IQ Panel 4?
You can find the IMEI number on the panel's box or located on a sticker on its back. If the panel is already mounted, access it through the panel's programming. Tap the gray bar, go to Settings > Advanced Settings, input Installer/Dealer Code (default is 1111/2222), then About > Cellular.
The IMEI number in the Qolsys IQ Panel 4 identifies its cellular communicator. This is the number that the alarm dealer will use to register the account on Alarm.com. Without this registration, an IQ Panel 4 can't be monitored. Alarm.com service is also what allows the panel to be remotely controlled through an iOS or Android app, including control of automation devices and services.
Each Qolsys IQ Panel 4 has both a cellular and a dual-band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) WIFI communicator built in. There is a Verizon or AT&T version available for use in the United States, and a Telus version available in Canada. Even though each panel has a WIFI communicator built in, the cellular communicator must be registered with Alarm.com for monitoring. There is no option to use WIFI only when monitoring a Qolsys IQ Panel 4. For Alarm Grid customers, this means you'll need a Gold Plan (Self or Full) or higher if you want interactive service. If you want traditional central station monitoring, with no interactive elements, then you can sign up for our Cellular Alarm Monitoring plan.
To register your system, the alarm dealer will need your IMEI number. This is used to both activate the cellular service and tie your system to an account number that identifies it with Alarm.com and the central monitoring station. If you are a DIYer, then you'll need to provide that number to your company. To find the IMEI number through panel programming, follow these steps:
- Enter programming. To access the information, tap the gray bar at the top center of the panel's main screen. Then tap Settings > Advanced Settings. When prompted for a code, enter the Installer or Dealer Code. The defaults are 1111 or 2222 respectively. This will bring you to the Advanced Settings screen.
- Tap About. Once in Advanced Settings tap the About option. This will bring up a list of various aspects of the system. You should see an option for Cellular. Tap this option and scroll down to the IMEI number.
- Note the IMEI number. It is important to copy this number exactly as shown. It may be a good idea to take a picture of it using your phone. This is the number you will need to provide to your alarm dealer's activation agent.
- Exit programming. To exit, tap the House icon at the bottom of the screen.
