How Do I Find the MAC Address on a Lyric Alarm System?
You can find the MAC Address on a Lyric Alarm System by checking the "Communication ID Numbers" under "Comm. Diagnostics" of the Programming Menu. This number is generally needed when registering the system. You will need to provide the system's Installer Code to find this information.
Every IP (internet protocol) device has a unique Media Access Control, or MAC, Address that makes it uniquely identifiable on a network. Since the Honeywell Lyric Controller can connect to a WIFI network, it too has its own MAC Address. The 12-character MAC Address for many Lyric Systems starts with "00-D0-2D", and it is then followed by six additional numbers and letters. However, newer Lyric Systems may have a different MAC prefix. The current prefix at the time of this writing is B8-2C-A0.
A user will typically need to provide the MAC Address for their Lyric System when they are registering it with their alarm monitoring company. They will also need to provide the MAC CRC code as well. This is a 4-digit code of numbers and letters, and it is found in the same location on the system as the MAC Address. This makes finding both the MAC and MAC CRC at the same time very convenient.
Complete the following steps to find the MAC Address for your Lyric System:
1. Access programming. Start from the main screen of the system. Choose Security > Tools > Installer Code (default 4112) > Program. You are now in system programming.
2. Find the MAC. Choose "Comm. Diagnostics". Then press the down arrow on the right side of the screen. Then choose "Communication ID Numbers". This will take you to a screen where the MAC and CRC will be displayed.
3. Note the codes. Take note of the MAC and CRC and store the codes in a safe place so that you can access the information if you ever need to later.
4. Return to main screen. Press the return arrow in the upper-right corner of the screen until you return to the main screen.
