How Do I Find the MAC & CRC for a Honeywell Home Tuxedo?
You can find the MAC and CRC for a Honeywell Home Tuxedo by accessing the System Information Menu for the keypad. The MAC and CRC codes are provided to the user's alarm monitoring company when linking the keypad with the Total Connect 2.0 platform for remote smart home automation control.
The Resideo Tuxedo is a touchscreen keypad and Z-Wave controller for Honeywell VISTA Alarm Systems. The device connects to the internet to relay automation commands to Total Connect 2.0. This is also how the Tuxedo receives firmware updates from the AlarmNet servers. It is important to note though that the Tuxedo Keypad is not an AlarmNet Communicator. Your VISTA System will still need a dedicated communicator for enabling alarm monitoring service and setting up access to Total Connect 2.0.
But since the Tuxedo connects with the internet, it does have its own MAC and CRC codes. These codes are provided to the user's monitoring company so that they can set up the Tuxedo with Total Connect 2.0. This is necessary for using Total Connect 2.0 to control your Z-Wave automation devices remotely using a web browser or the Total Connect 2.0 mobile app. A user will typically do this when first setting up their system for monitoring service, or when they are adding a new Tuxedo Keypad to their system.
You can identify the MAC address as having 12 characters, which are a mixture of letters and numbers. You can often recognize a special MAC-prefix for many Tuxedo Keypad models, such as b8:2c:a0. Meanwhile, the CRC code is only four (4) characters in length. It is also a mix of letters and numbers.
Complete the following steps to find the MAC and CRC codes on a Resideo Tuxedo Keypad:
1. Access System Information. Start from the main screen of the Tuxedo. Click the gear icon at the bottom of the screen. Then select System Info. This will take you into the System Information Menu.
2. Note the codes. You can find the MAC and CRC codes on the right-hand side of the screen. We recommend either writing down the codes or taking a picture of them for easy access later. Store the codes somewhere safe.
3. Return home. Click the picture of the house in the upper-right corner to return to the home screen.
