How Do I Get into Programming on My Honeywell LYNX Touch?
You can get into programming on your Honeywell LYNX Touch by accessing the programming menu from within the security menu. In order to access the programming menu, you will need to know the installer code for your device. The process is the same for every panel in the LYNX Touch lineup.
The default installer code for any LYNX Touch panel is 4112. However, this code can be changed by the installer. Some alarm companies may change this code in order limit what the user is able to do at the panel. If for some reason you do not know your installer code, or if you have been locked out of programming, then you will need to use the backdoor method to access programming.
The video below will help you get back into programming on the L5100 if you've been locked out.
Once you have accessed the programming menu, you will be able to change the majority of the settings for the panel. This includes programming new devices, setting zone response types, setting the panel's default communication method and more.
Complete the following steps to access system programming:
- Go to the main screen. Click the button on the front of the system with the house icon. This will bring the system back to the main home screen.
- Access the system programming. From the home screen, go to Security > More > Tools > enter the installer code (the default code is 4112) > Program. You should now be at the programming menu of your panel. Please note that you cannot use the master code or any other user codes to access the programming menu.
-
Program the system. If you see the screen shown below, then you have successfully accessed system programming. From here, you will be able to make many changes to the settings of your panel. When exiting system programming, always make sure that you select “Yes” on the window that asks “Allow installer to re-enter programming?”. If you select "No", then the system will lock you out of programming, and you will have to use the backdoor method to get back in.
