How Do I Get Into Z-Wave Programming On a Honeywell Home Tuxedo?
You can get into Z-Wave Programming on a Honeywell Home Tuxedo by choosing Devices, followed by Z-Wave Setup. By entering Z-Wave Programming, you can add and remove Z-Wave devices. Paired devices will appear on Total Connect 2.0 for remote operation once the Tuxedo refreshes with the servers.
The Resideo Tuxedo is a touchscreen keypad for a Honeywell VISTA System that doubles as a Z-Wave Plus controller. This means that you can pair Z-Wave smart home devices such as lights, door locks, and thermostats. Paired devices can be controlled locally at the Tuxedo and remotely from Total Connect 2.0 (monitoring service required). You can also build smart scenes to have your Z-Wave devices activate automatically based on a set schedule or with predetermined system events.
Complete the following steps to perform Z-Wave programming on a Resideo Tuxedo:
1. Enter Z-Wave Setup Menu. Start from the main screen of the Tuxedo. Choose Devices. Then click the Z-Wave Setup icon at the bottom of the screen. You will enter the Z-Wave Setup Menu.
2. Perform Z-Wave Programming. You can now perform any necessary Z-Wave programming. The primary functions will be to add and remove devices. Removing a device may also be referred to clearing it from the network. It is best practice to clear most Z-Wave devices from the network before pairing them, even if a device is brand-new and fresh out of the box.
To clear a device from the network, click the Remove Device option at the bottom. Then activate the exclusion function on the device itself. Refer to the installation manual for the device to determine how to do this. Many Z-Wave device will have a button specifically for this purpose. Keep in mind that many Z-Wave devices follow the same process for exclusion as they do for inclusion.
After you have cleared a Z-Wave device from the network, you can then add it to the network. Click the Add Device button at the bottom. Then activate the inclusion function for the device. The device's installation manual should tell you how to do this. Again, many Z-Wave devices use the same process for inclusion that they use for exclusion. You will typically be required to configure some basic settings to complete the pairing process.
3. Return Home. Once you have finished Z-Wave programming, press the picture of the house in the upper-right corner to return to the home screen.
