How Do I Get My ADC-V622 Added to a Network Using AP Mode?

You can get your ADC-V622 added to a network using AP Mode by putting the ADC-V622 Camera into its AP Mode for pairing, and then using a WIFI-connected device to connect with the camera's Access Point. From there, choose the desired WIFI network, and provide its password to connect.

The Alarm.com ADC-V622, which may also be called the ADC-V622-WELL, can get online using wireless WIFI connectivity, or by using a hardwired ethernet connection with PoE. The purpose of AP Mode pairing is to get the camera connected to a wireless WIFI network. Once the camera is connected to the internet, you can then get it paired with your Alarm.com account through their website or mobile app. The other method for getting the camera connected to WIFI is through WPS pairing. Of the two methods, AP Mode pairing is considered to be the safer and more secure route, and it is the method we recommend using if you want to get your ADC-V622 connected to WIFI. Remember that the ADC-V622 supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WIFI networks.

Complete the following steps to connect your ADC-V622 to a WIFI network by using AP Mode pairing:

1. Power on camera. If you haven't already, provide power to the ADC-V622 by using its plug-in transformer. Connect the wire to the back of the camera, and plug the other end into a functional outlet. The camera's LED light should begin flashing, thereby indicating that the camera is receiving power. Wait at least two (2) minutes after initial power-up before continuing to the next step.

2. Activate camera AP Mode. After waiting at least two (2) minutes, press the Menu button on the camera. Then use the volume buttons to scroll through the verbal menu prompts. Find the option for Access Point, and select it by pressing the Menu button again. The camera's LED will begin flashing white. This indicates that the camera is in AP Mode.

3. Connect to Access Point. Use a WIFI-capable device, such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone, and access the list of available WIFI networks. Look for one named ADC-V622 (XX:XX:XX), where the X's represent the last six (6) characters in the camera's 12-character MAC Address. Select this network, and connect to it. A web browser should automatically open, but if not, open one up, and enter 192.168.1.1 to connect with the camera's Wireless Access Point.

4. Follow on-screen prompts. Upon connecting to the Access Point, you will be prompted to choose a language. Then you will be asked to scan for WIFI networks. Wait for the list to be generated, and choose the desired network. Then enter the network password into the Security Key field, and press Save. If a pop-up window appears, press OK. You should then check the camera LED to verify successful network connectivity. A solid green LED indicates a successful connection. You can then pair your ADC-V622 Camera with your Alarm.com account.
