How Do I Include a Yale YRD216?
You can include a Yale YRD216 by first putting the Z-Wave controller into its exclusion mode and then activating the exclusion function on the lock to clear it from the network. Then put the Z-Wave controller into inclusion mode and activate the lock's inclusion function to pair the device.
The Yale YRD216 is a push-button Z-Wave Plus lock. It can support up to 250 different user codes, and the keypad buttons are backlit for ease of use at night. It is rated as Grade 2, making it perfect for residential use. The lock also features a weather-protection gasket, one-touch locking capabilities, a privacy button and a resistant battery cover.
As a Z-Wave lock, the Yale YRD216 offers fairly standard operation. It can be used with smart scenes for automatic operation and remote access. When pairing the lock, it is always good to clear the lock. Even if the device is brand-new, it may have been paired with a previous network for factory testing purposes. Clearing the lock first will ensure that it can enroll successfully.
Please note that it is best practice to bring the lock close to the Z-Wave controller when excluding and including. You can then install the lock in the door for normal operation. Complete the following steps to include a Yale YRD216 Z-Wave Plus Lock:
1. Access exclusion mode. Put the Z-Wave controller into its Z-Wave exclusion mode. The process for doing this will depend on the Z-Wave controller you are using. Consult the device's manual for more information.
