How Do I Install A Lynx Touch L5200?
The Honeywell Lynx Touch L5200 is a self contained wireless panel, touch screen keypad and siren all in one.
To wall mount the Honeywell Lynx Touch L5200, start by separating the front from the back of the L5200, using a flathead screwdriver pressing the two locking tabs found on the top of the panel. The L5200 control panel is hinged so it will open like a book.
Using an LT Cable is recommended and easier than buying, cutting and splicing wire to connect the transformer / power supply. The LT Cable is 8 feet long and has a DC connector plug at one end to plug directly into the power supply receptacle built into the Lynx Touch L5200 panel found between the speaker and the terminal strip when the panel is open. Now feed the LT Cable through the back hole of the L5200 panel and secure the wire at the tie wrap points if needed.
Mount the L5200 using the 4 mounting holes found on the back of the panel and self tapping screws.
Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the battery retainer and install the backup battery. Feed the battery cable through the cutout on left side. Replace the battery retainer and secure it with the screw. Plug the battery into the standard battery receptacle located to the left of the terminal strip.
Snap the front to the back of the L5200 control panel. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, loosen the the terminal screws on the transformer. Once loosened, slide the red wire spade connector to the + (positive) and the black wire spade connector to the - (negative) screw terminal. Tighten the screws to secure connection. Plug the transformer into an electrical outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch.
To desk mount the Lynx Control L5200, follow the same instructions to connect the transformer and battery. Once this is completed and you close the panel place the Lynx Touch L5200 control panel on the mounting base locking tabs. Feed all the wires through the bottom of the mounting base. Use the included screws to secure the L5200 control panel to the mounting base.
Now users can connect to a landline, install an AlarmNet communicator,ZWave communicator and wireless devices. Please refer to the individual device install manual for instructions.
