How Do I Open the Honeywell SiXCOMBO?

You can open the Honeywell SiXCOMBO by pressing the sensor against its back plate and then twisting the sensor counter-clockwise. This will unlock the back plate so that it can be removed. When it's time to reapply the SiXCOMBO Sensor, make sure to align it properly, and twist clockwise.

The Honeywell SiXCOMBO is a combination smoke, heat, and CO detector that is built for use with the Honeywell Lyric Alarm System. The most common reason why you would need to open the Honeywell SiXCOMBO is because you are replacing the device batteries. The SiXCOMBO uses four (4) CR123A batteries, which are sometimes referred to as "camera batteries". Average battery life for the SiXCOMBO is about five (5) years. You might also open up the SiXCOMBO to access information like the sensor's Serial Number, its Date Code, or its End of Life Date. All of this information can be found on a white sticker inside the sensor.

Complete the following steps to open and close the Honeywell SiXCOMBO:

1. Open the sensor. Press the sensor against its back plate. Twist the sensor counter-clockwise. It should then unlock from the back plate so that you can remove the cover. You will then have access to the inside of the sensor.

2. Perform the task. You can now perform whatever action you were hoping to achieve by opening the SiXCOMBO. This could include changing the batteries, checking sensor information on the internal sticker, or even intentionally activating the sensor's tamper cover to enroll it to the Lyric.

3. Close the sensor. Align the sensor with its back plate. You will know that the sensor is properly aligned because the SiXCOMBO will fit flat onto the back plate. Then twist the sensor clockwise to lock it into plate. The sensor should remain sturdy and secure whether it is mounted on the wall or ceiling.
