How Do I Program a Key Fob to an Interlogix Simon XT?
You can program a key fob to an Interlogix Simon XT by accessing the System Programming Menu. Put the system in its learn mode and then press and hold the top two buttons on the device. Once the key fob has been learned in, you can adjust its settings and configurations as needed.
Complete the following steps to program a key fob to an Interlogix Simon XT System:
1. Access programming. From the main screen of the Simon XT System, press the down arrow repeatedly until you reach an option called "System Programming". With this option displayed, press the "OK" button. Next, enter the system's Installer Code. This code is set to 4321 by default, but it may have been previously changed. After entering in the code, press the "OK" button. If the code was entered successfully, you will access the System Programming Menu.
2. Enroll the device. Keep pressing the down arrow until the option "Sensors" is displayed on the screen. With this option displayed, press the "OK" button. The message "Learn Sensors" will be displayed. Press the "OK" button. The system will display "Trip Sensor".
Using the key fob, press and hold the top two buttons on the device. These are the lock and unlock buttons. The panel will beep once it recognizes the device. This will indicate that the key fob was enrolled.
3. Configure the key fob. As a key fob, the Group Number for the device should be set to Group Number 1. This will have the device function as a fixed panic that can be used to arm and disarm the system. Use the up and down arrows to toggle between the different Group Number selections. Once Group Number 1 is displayed, press the "OK" button. If you would like to learn more about Group Numbers, please consult pages 8-10 of the Simon XT Installation Manual.
Next, you will choose a name for the key fob. The Simon XT System comes pre-included with a list of possible sensor names. Use the up and down arrows to scroll through the list of names. After locating the name you want to use, select it by pressing the "OK" button.
4. Exit programming. Once you have finished programming the key fob, keep pressing the "Status" button until you are taken back to the main screen. This will exit programming and save any changes that were made. You should then test the key fob to make sure that it can arm and disarm the system successfully.
