How Do I Program a Motion for Night Stay on my Honeywell L5210, L7000?
You can program a motion for Night Stay on your Honeywell L5210 or L7000 through zone programming. This will bypass the motion during a normal armed stay. However, the sensor will be active when the panel is armed to Night Stay. The motion must have an "Interior" Response Type to do this.
Once you program a sensor for Night Stay, you will have the option to "Arm Night" when you go to arm stay. Selecting the Arm Night option during the arming process will have the system enter into Night Stay mode. You will then be able to arm the system as normal with any user code or the Master Code.
Complete the following steps to program a motion for night stay:
1. Access zone programming. From the home screen of your L5210 or L700, go to Security > More > Tools > enter Installer Code (the default is 4112) > Program > Zones. You Lynx Touch system will now be in zone programming.
2. Program the zone. Click on an available zone to highlight it. Then hit "Edit" at the bottom of the screen. You can program the zone like any other wireless sensor. When setting the Device Type, choose "Motion Sensor". When setting the Response Type, choose "Interior Follower" or "Interior With Delay". Continue to make all of the necessary adjustments on the first page of programming. Do not click "Save" just yet, as you will still need to enable the Arm Night option.
3. Enable Arm Night. Press the down arrow on the right side of the screen to continue on to the second page of programming settings for that zone. You should see a field for Arm Night. Clicking on this field will toggle between "Yes" and "No". Make sure that it is set to "Yes". Then click save in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Press the return arrow in the upper-right corner of the screen until you return to the main screen. Make sure to select "Yes" when the system asks you if you want to allow the Installer to re-enter programming.
4. Confirm the programming. From the home screen of the panel, choose Security. Then choose Arm Stay. On the left side of the arming screen, you should see a field for Arm Night. Pressing this button will cause it to glow green. If you arm the panel in this state, the system will arm into Night Stay. In this mode, the motion sensor will be active.
However, if you leave the Arm Night option unmarked, then the system will go into regular Arm Stay mode. In this mode, the motion sensor will not be active.
