How do I Reset a Honeywell ACU to Factory Defaults?
The Honeywell ACU is used to convert an Analog hardwired camera to allow for network use. The ACU can be wired to the network through an RJ45 Ethernet cable, or can be connected via WIFI using WPS. If the ACU malfunctions, and needs to be returned to factory settings, follow the steps below:
- Make sure the Power LED is steady, not blinking. A blinking Power LED indicates the ACU is still in the process of booting up. The boot process can take up to 2 minutes. If, after 2 minutes, the Power LED is still blinking, try powering down and up again then wait 2 minutes. If this behavior continues, check the power supply. The ACU or the power supply may be defective.
- Press the Reset button. Assuming it powers up normally, use a paper clip, or similar tool, to press and hold down the reset button for a full 12 seconds. The ACU will reboot, and the Power LED will blink during the boot process. Again, this can take up to 2 minutes. Once the unit has rebooted, the Power LED will blink 3 times to confirm the default has completed.
- If this is an ACU that was previously associated to a Total Connect 2.0 account, and connected to the network via WPS - After the Factory Default, the user's dealer must delete the ACU from the TC2 account. The dealer must then add it back, and the user must reconfigure WPS on the ACU following the steps above.
