How Do I Run Power To A Honeywell L7000

There are 2 (two) options to run power to a Honeywell Lynx Touch L7000.

For both options, start by separating the front from the back case of the L7000 by depressing the top 2 (two) tabs and pull apart.

First option - using either 22/2 (twenty-two/two) gauge or 18/2 (eighteen/two) gauge wire, cut the wire to desired length. Strip the insulation housing from around the wire exposing both the red and black wires on both ends. From one end of the wire, connect the red positive wire to the +9VDC inside the panel wrapping it around 1 (one) time. From the same end of the wire, connect the black negative wire to the GND terminal inside the panel wrapping it around 1 (one) time Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, loosen the 2 (two) screws on the transformer. From the opposite end of the wire, connect the red positive to the + on the transformer and the black negative to the - on the transformer, using the same technique of wrapping the wire around 1 (one) time. Re-tighten the screws. Plug the transformer into an outlet to verify power.

Second option - using a LT Cable - plug the cable directly into the DC plug located towards the bottom left hand side on the circuit board. Make sure to feed the cable thru the opening in the back case. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, loosen the 2 (two) screws on the transformer. Connect the red wire to the (+) positive, retighten the screw. Connect the black wire to the ( -) negative on the transformer, retighten the screw. Plug the transformer into an outlet to verify power.
