How Do I Set a Tuxedo Touch WIFI as a Secondary Z-Wave Controller to Another Tuxedo Touch?

You can set a Tuxedo Touch WIFI as a secondary Z-Wave controller to another Tuxedo Touch by first accessing the Automation menu on the Tuxedo Touch you want to use as the secondary controller and setting it to operate as a secondary. Then press "Add" on both Tuxedos to finish the pairing.

Honeywell tuxedo touch wifi talking color graphic touchscreen alarm keypadBy using the Tuxedo Touch WIFI as a secondary Z-Wave controller, all of the devices that are used with the primary controller will be transferred over automatically. A user can then perform a device name sync to have all the Z-Wave device names on the secondary Tuxedo Touch set to the same as the primary controller.

When setting the Tuxedo Touch WIFI Keypad as a secondary controller, it should be within 10 feet of the primary controller for best results. Please note that all Z-Wave devices will need to be removed from the secondary Tuxedo Touch in order for the pairing process to work.

Complete the following steps to set a Tuxedo Touch WIFI as a secondary Z-Wave controller to another Tuxedo Touch:

1. Set the secondary controller. Start from the main screen of the Tuxedo Touch WIFI that you want to use as the secondary Z-Wave controller. Choose Automation. Then select the Z-Wave Setup icon at the bottom of the screen. This is the icon directly to the left of the light switch icon. Then press the "Primary Ctrl" icon in the lower-right corner. Choose "Yes". The Tuxedo Touch WIFI Keypad will then be set to function as a secondary controller.

2. Pair the secondary controller. Keep the secondary Tuxedo Touch on that same screen. Then go to the primary controller. Start from the main screen. Choose Automation, then the Z-Wave Setup icon that is to the left of the light switch. Then press the "Add Device" button in the lower-left corner. Then press that same button on the secondary Tuxedo Touch. The pairing process should initiate.

3. Confirm the pairing. If the pairing was successful, the primary Tuxedo will display "Device Added Successfully". The secondary Tuxedo will display "Controller Add Success". Then return both devices to their home screens by pressing the picture of the house in the upper-left corner. You can then perform the device name sync if desired.

For TC2, you need an AlarmNet communicator and you must at least be at rev 9.12, read from the chip on your panel board. https://www.alarmgrid.com/faq/which-tc2-chipset-revision-will-get-me-total-connect-compatibili If not you can upgrade the prom or communicator and prom. https://www.alarmgrid.com/products/resideo-ltempa-tc2
Interesting. I have a Vista20P but was advised to go with the Alula BAT to connect to the Internet. Sadly, this doesn't provide TC2 features.
Yeah Samsung has been stepping away and distancing themselves from Z-Wave support for some time now. So they probably aren't assigning many resources to it. Yeah, unfortunately, I am not aware of a work around for that setup. FYI, Vista 15p/20P/21ip/128bpt/250bpt and like panels will support TC2 (some require a prom chip upgrade).
Right now I use the Samsung SmartThings hub as a secondary controller to connect my Tuxedo to Alexa, but that hub keeps losing connection to the devices. The Tuxedo Z-Wave always works, but I still need a way to connect to Alexa, so I'm looking for a better way. I have an Alula BAT for my alarm but that doesn't give me Total Connect. I did some research a while back, and I don't think my unit will do Total Connect, though I could be wrong.
It should work with any Z-Wave hub, but Alexa is not a Z-Wave controller. If you have a monitored panel, Total Connect 2.0 can connect to Alexa and you can ask he to run scenes. Also there is Brilliant which can act as a hub with Total Connect and control a variety of devices. https://www.alarmgrid.com/blog/alarm-grid-is-proud-to-welcome-the-brilliant-line-of-products
Can the Tuxedo Touch be a secondary to any hub or just another Tuxedo? I need my Z-Wave devices to connect to Alexa and the Tuxedo doesn't allow that.
