How Do I Set an ADC-T2000 Back to Factory Default?

You can set an ADC-T2000 back to factory default by pressing and holding the button with three (3) dots until the thermostat is in its OFF Mode, then pressing and holding the Up Arrow until a Version is displayed, and lastly pressing and holding the Down Arrow until RST is displayed.


You will usually only factory default or factory reset an ADC-T2000 as a last resort troubleshooting step if nothing else seems to fix an ongoing issue, or if you are planning to sell the thermostat or give it to someone else. Once you perform the factory default, it cannot be undone. All of the programming settings and configurations for thermostat will need to be reconfigured. You will basically be starting from scratch with the thermostat, as though it were fresh from the package. However, it will still have any firmware updates that were applied.

Complete the following steps to factory default or factory reset an Alarm.com ADC-T2000 Smart Thermostat:

1. Enter thermostat OFF mode. To put the ADC-T2000 in its OFF mode, press the button with three (3) dots on the right-hand side of the unit. You will know that the device is in its OFF mode because no symbols will be lit up below the temperature display. Please note that this isn't powering down the unit, but rather its in an OFF mode where the HVAC system is is not heating or cooling.

2. Display the thermostat Version. To display the thermostat Version, press and hold the Up Arrow on the right-hand side of the device until the screen displays the information. It does not matter which Version is displayed. Just continue to the next step once you get it to appear. Remember that you must press and hold the Up Arrow, not just press and release it.

3. Perform the factory reset. To complete the process, press and hold the Down Arrow on the right-hand side of the device until the letters RST appear on the screen. Again, you must press and hold the down arrow, not just press and release it. You can release the Down Arrow once RST appears. Then simply wait for the message to clear. The thermostat will be reset to its factory default configuration.
