How Do I Set The House ID For a Honeywell LYNX Touch?
You can set the House ID for a Honeywell LYNX Touch through system programming. The House ID is a two digit code that can range from 01 to 31. The code is used for communicating with bi-directional wireless devices. You will need the system's Installer Code to access the programming menu.
If you are adding a bi-directional wireless device, such as an external keypad, to a Honeywell LYNX Touch, you may need to set the House ID first. Bi-directional wireless devices communicate with the LYNX Touch based on this House ID setting. The House ID setting is used to prevent wireless devices from accidentally controlling an incorrect security panel.
For communication to be successful, the house ID for the bi-directional wireless device and the House ID for the LYNX Touch System must be set to the same value. In other words, if the House ID is not configured correctly, then communication between the panel and the device will be impossible.
Complete the following steps to set the House ID for a LYNX Touch:
1. Access programming. Start from the home screen of the LYNX Touch System. Go to Security > More > Tools > Installer Code (default is 4112) > Program. This will take you into System Programming.
2. Set RF House Code. Choose System Type. Then click on the field for RF House Code. Use the keypad to enter in a two-digit code from 01 to 31. Once the desired code is displayed, click the "Done" button in the lower-right corner.
3. Save your changes. Click the "Save" button in the lower-right corner. This will save the House ID setting for the system. Then repeatedly press the return arrow in the upper-right corner until you return to the main screen. Make sure to choose "Yes" when asked if you want to allow the installer to re-enter programming.
