How Do I Turn Down the Volume On My 2GIG Edge?
You can turn down the volume on your 2GIG Edge by clicking the gear icon in the bottom-right corner of the main screen, entering the Installer Code or Master Code, choosing Sounds, and then setting the desired volume. You can also mute the system by toggling the speaker icon on the top bar.
From the Sound Settings Menu, you can individually increase or decrease the volume for Zone Chime, Keypad (i.e. menu inputs), Spoken System Annunciation, Doorbell Chime, and Trouble Alerts. Remember that each zone can be set up for Chime and/or Voice individually. This is useful if you want the panel to emit audible alerts for certain zones being faulted, while not making any sounds for other zones being faulted. Also, if you click on the speaker icon found at the top of pretty much any system menu or on the main screen, then you can mute all system sounds. This is a toggle button for muted and unmuted. The picture below shows what it looks like when the system is muted.
If you want to access the Sound Settings Menu so that you can manually decrease the 2GIG Edge volume, then complete the following steps.
1. Enter Sound Settings Menu. Begin from the main screen of the 2GIG Edge. Press the gear icon in the bottom-right corner. Enter the Master Code (default 1111, but usually changed) or the Installer Code (default 1561, not usually changed). Then choose Sounds. You will enter the Sound Settings Menu.
2. Adjust the volume. Set the volume how you would like. There are options for Chime (Zone Faults, when enabled), Keypad (system input presses), System Annunciation (Spoken status and Zone Descriptions when zones are faulted, if enabled) Doorbell Chime (chime sound for programmed doorbell) and Trouble Alerts (beeping sound when trouble condition occurs). For each sound setting, move the circle on the bar left to decrease that volume, or to the right to increase the volume. When you have finished, there is no need to press a "Save" button to save your changes. All your settings are automatically applied. Just continue to the next step.
3. Return home. Press the icon of the house in the bottom-right corner to return to the home screen. Any changes you made to the sound settings will be automatically applied.
