How Do You Bypass a Zone on a DSC Impassa?

You can bypass a zone on a DSC Impassa by first pressing the Bypass button on the front of the panel. The message "Scroll to Bypass Zones" will be displayed. Use the > and < arrow keys to scroll between zones. Press * to bypass the selected zone. Exit the menu by pressing the # key.

Bypassing a zone tells the alarm system to ignore that zone. If the system is armed, and the sensor associated with the bypassed zone is activated, no alarm will occur. Bypassing a zone can be useful if a user wants to have a zone temporarily disabled while the rest of the alarm system is armed. It can also be useful if a zone is faulted or troubled and the user wants to quickly arm their system without clearing the condition. This way, a user can arm their system even if a door or window is opened.

Complete the following steps to bypass a zone on a DSC Impassa:

1. Access the bypass menu. With the system ready to arm, press the Bypass button. The Bypass button is on the front of the panel in the bottom-right corner, directly above the Exit button. The message "Scroll to Bypass Zones" will be displayed, indicating that the system is its bypass menu.

2. Find the zone. Use the arrow keys (> & <) to scroll through the list of available zones. The arrow keys are located on the front of the panel in the upper-left corner. Navigate through the list of zones until you find the zone you want to bypass.

3. Bypass the zone. With the zone displayed, press the * key to bypass the zone. The letter B will be displayed, indicating that the zone is now bypassed. Pressing the * key again will remove the letter B, indicating that the zone no longer bypassed. With the zone bypassed, you can then use the arrow keys to scroll through the other zones and bypass additional zones if needed.

4. Exit the menu. Press the # key to exit the bypass menu and return to the main screen. The # key is located on the front of the panel in the bottom-right corner, to the left of the Exit button.
