How Do You Wire A Honeywell L7000 Control Panel?
Honeywell’s Lynx Touch L7000 comes equipped with a backup battery (300-03864-1/LYNXRCHKIT-SC) and transformer (power supply) for power. A wire will need to be run from the Lynx Touch L7000 control panel to the transformer, or a user can purchase Honeywell’s LT Cable (cable is 8 feet long) for fast and easy wire connection. The Lynx Touch L7000 comes equipped with a power supply receptacle built right inside the panel (found on the bottom left hand side inside the panel) making the LT Cable very easy. Simply plug in the DC plug into the power supply receptacle running the wire thru the back cut out feeding the wire through the wire clips to hold in place. Using a small phillips head screwdriver, loosen the 2 screws on the transformer. Connect the red wire to the (+) positive, retighten the screw. Connect the black wire to the ( -) negative on the transformer, retighten the screw. Plug the transformer into an outlet to verify power.
If 8 feet of LT Cable is not long enough, you can run either 22/2 gauge or 18/2 gauge wire, cut the wire to desired length. Strip the insulation housing from around the wire exposing both the red and black wires on both ends. From one end of the wire, connect the red positive wire to the +9VDC inside the panel wrapping it around 1 time. From the same end of the wire, connect the black negative wire to the GND terminal inside the panel wrapping it around 1 time. Using a small phillips head screwdriver, loosen the 2 (two) screws on the transformer. Using the opposite end of the wire, connect the red positive to the + on the transformer and the black negative to the - on the transformer, using the same technique of wrapping the wire around 1 time. Retighten the screws. Plug the transformer into an outlet to verify power.
In the event of a power outage, the backup battery will continue to power the Lynx Touch L7000 for at least a minimum of 4 hours. A 24 hour backup battery can be purchased (300-03866/LYNXRCHKIT-SHA). A low battery notification will be sent at least 1 hour before depletion.
