The wiring included with the ADC-V721W is 15 feet in total. This comes from a 10 foot power supply cable and a 5 foot dongle on the back of the camera. The 10 foot power supply cable has a male DC barrel connector, while the 5 foot dongle on the back has a female DC port for the barrel plug.
The Alarm.com ADC-V721W is an IP security camera designed for use with the Alarm.com platform. In order to use this camera, you must have either a Platinum Level Plan or a Video-Only Plan. This is a WIFI camera that connects with a local IP network through a secure WPS connection. A hardwired ethernet connection cannot be used with this camera. This also means that the camera cannot support Power over Ethernet (PoE). The only wire that this this camera uses is for receiving electrical power.
Like all security cameras, the Alarm.com ADC-V721W requires power for basic operation. This camera receives its power from a plug-in transformer. The transformer is rated at 12VDC at 1.5A , and it comes included with the camera. Depending on your setup, you may be concerned over how far you can have the camera away from the power supply. With the camera's 10 foot power supply cable and 5 foot dongle on the back, you have up to 15 feet of wiring to work with. This is very important to keep in mind when planning your installation.
The power connection itself is very easy to complete. The 10 foot power supply cable has a male DC barrel connector at the end. Meanwhile, there is a 5 foot dongle on the back of the camera. This dongle splits into a Y-cable with two (2) ends. One end is a female port for the barrel connection, while the other end is an IO terminal block. You will plug the male DC barrel connector into the female port of the Y-cable dongle to complete the power connection. As for the IO terminal block, you can use that to connect a wired sensor to the ADC-V721W to trigger recording and video uploads to Alarm.com.
