How Many Protection Zones Does A Qolsys IQ Panel 4 Have?
The Qolsys IQ Panel 4 can support 128 protection zones. This includes a mixture of legacy RF sensors and PowerG sensors. The legacy sensors supported depend on the IQ Panel 4 version used. The options are 319.5 MHz (including S-Line), 345 MHz, or 433 MHz sensors. PowerG sensors use 915 MHz.
The Qolsys IQ Panel 4 is a 7" capacitive glass touchscreen All-In-One panel with a built-in camera for optional disarm images. The panel comes in black or white, and in different variations of each color, or as we refer to them here at Alarm Grid, different flavors. The various flavors allow the user to install a new feature-rich wireless panel without having to replace the previous system's wireless sensors. They include the 319.5 Mhz (Qolsys/GE/Interlogix) sensors. These sensors can come in the original non-encrypted variety, or can use Qolsys S-Line encryption. The IQ Panel 4 can support either version. There is also a version to support the 345 Mhz (Honeywell/2gig) sensors, and a version for the 433 Mhz (DSC) sensors. All three (3) flavors will also support 915 MHz PowerG frequency sensors. There is also an IQ Panel 4 version that supports PowerG only. This version is available in white only.
The IQ Panel 4 is a popular choice to replace many existing wired or wireless systems because it is so versatile. The various versions allow you to easily transition to a new panel without spending a ton of money replacing all of your current sensors. Even if you currently have hardwired sensors, there are wired-to-wireless converters for nearly every flavor of the panel. For current hardwired systems, there are wired-to-wireless converters for 319.5 MHz, 345 MHz, and PowerG 915 MHz. To verify compatibility, please see the complete list of compatible wireless sensors for the IQ Panel 4.
The IQ Panel 4, 319.5 MHz version is a popular choice if you currently have sensors from an existing Qolsy, GE, Resolution Products, or Interlogix wireless system. It utilizes the Qolsys IQ Hardwire 16-F for hardwired to wireless conversion.
The IQ Panel 4, 345 MHz version is a popular choice if you currently have sensors from an existing Honeywell or 2Gig panel. For hardwire conversions, you can use a 2GIG TAKE-345.
The IQ Panel 4, 433 MHz version is a popular choice if you currently have sensors from an existing DSC wireless system. There is no 433 MHz conversion module, but DSC makes one for the 915 MHz PowerG frequency.
All panel options have built-in PowerG sensor support and can utilize the DSC PG9WLSHW8 wired to wireless converter. The IQ Panel 4 will support a maximum of two (2) of these converter modules.
All of these various options solidify the IQ Panel 4 as being a cover-all replacement for almost any existing alarm system. Utilize the combination of legacy RF and PowerG sensors, and wired-to-wireless converters, to build your perfect IQ Panel 4 system. This will allow you to easily utilize up to the supported 128 protection zones on the Qolsys IQ Panel 4.
