How Many Zones Are On A Honeywell 5800C2W?
The Honeywell 5800C2W has 9 hardwired input zones. All zones that are used must have an EOL resistor.
The Honeywell 5800C2W Convert to Wireless Module enables existing hardwired sensors to be converted to Honeywell’s 5800 series wireless technology.
Users can upgrade a hardwired security system to a wireless Lynx Touch series or a Lynx Plus control panel or a Vista (residential) series control panel equipped with either a 5800 series wireless receiver or an RF keypad, without the need of replacing existing hardwired sensors.
The 5800C2W cannot be used to convert hardwired smoke, heat or carbon monoxide detectors.
As a 5800 series wireless device, each 5800C2W has a unique 7-digit serial number to enable the control panel to recognize it. This serial number must be programmed into the control panel. Since the 5800C2W module has 9 zones each zone is automatically assigned the next sequential serial number. All zones are Loop 1. All unused zones are not reported or transmitted to the control
The 5800C2W uses a 12V, 4Ah battery and will provide 4 hours of backup. Ideally the 5800C2W should be installed next to (but not) the existing hardwired control panel for ease in connecting wires. The backup battery can be housed in the hardwired control panel cabinet and the hardwired panel can be powered down and the transformer unplugged. The 5800C2W comes with a plug in transformer, do not use any other transformer then the supplied transformer.
The Auxiliary Output provides 11.2VDC plus 15% @ 100mA to supply PIR motion detectors or glass break detectors.
The 5800C2W is supervised for low battery, backup battery power and enrolled zone will transmit a supervisory message every 72 minutes. The 5800C2W also has Tamper detection and will send a signal if the cover is removed.
The 5800C2W has LED status indicators for input power (which can be seen through the enclosure cover), backup power and wireless transmission.
The 5800C2W operates in temperatures ranging from 14 degrees F to 140 degrees F and has an RF transmitting range of 300 feet.
Installing the 5800C2W is easy using the included screws and double sided tape.
