How Many Zones are on a Honeywell Receiver?

The number of zones on a Honeywell Receiver varies between different devices. Some of these devices support an unlimited number of wireless zones, and the user will only be restricted by the number of wireless zones on the panel. Other modules can only facilitate a finite number of zones.

Wireless receivers are commonly split into two categories. These are standard wireless receivers and wireless transceivers. Standard wireless receivers can only receive signals, and they will only work with one-way communication devices. Wireless transceivers can both send and receive signals. This allows them to work with bi-directional devices. This built-in module is usually a wireless transceiver so that two-way communication devices can be used. Keep in mind that there is only a finite number of zones that the wireless panel can support. Each wireless sensor will typically use one wireless zone. However, there are sensors the use a greater number of zones.

Honeywell generally uses wireless receivers that accept sensors that operate at the 345 MHz frequency, which includes all of the Honeywell 5800 Series Sensors. Unless otherwise stated, these are the sensors you should use with a Honeywell Receiver. Keep in mind that the standard range for Honeywell 5800 Series Sensors is 200 nominal feet. However, this range can be reduced due to the presence of obstacles like walls and large metal objects.
