How Much Heat Can a Honeywell IPCAM-WO Take?
The Honeywell IPCAM-WO is an IP Camera intended for use with the Honeywell Total Connect 2.0 platform. It can also be streamed from the LYNX Touch Panels when an ILP5 or L5100-WIFI Card is installed, from a Resideo Lyric Panel, or from a Tuxedo Touch Keypad. It is designed for outdoor use.
Although the IPCAM-WO is rugged enough to withstand inclement weather, it can only take so much heat. The operating temperature range for the IPCAM-WO is -10 degrees to 113 degrees Fahrenheit. This equates to -23 degrees to 45 degrees Celsius. Trying to use the camera in an environment hotter than 113 degrees Fahrenheit may result in permanent damage. The same is true if you try to use the camera in an environment colder than -10 degrees Fahrenheit may also result in damage.
Just as important, the operating relative humidity range is 10 percent to 80 percent non-condensing. The storage relative humidity range is 10 percent to 90 percent non-condensing. While the device is water-resistant, it should not be fully submerged in liquid at any time. Doing so may cause damage to the device. Please do not attempt to use the camera underwater.
In daylight, the IPCAM-WO offers a color picture. By using its built-in light sensor, the camera automatically switches to infrared (IR) night vision, with a 25 foot range at night. This makes the camera suitable for recording at any time of day. While the camera was built for outdoor environments, you can certainly use it indoors as well.
Note: The Total Connect 2.0 Legacy IP Cameras like the IPCAM-WO can only be used if they were online at the time when Resideo pushed down an OTA update to make them compatible with an updated TC2 platform. Any legacy camera that was not online to receive this update can no longer be used. You must be very careful when purchasing used legacy TC2 IP Cameras, as many people will try to pass off bricked models on unsuspecting buyers. Please read this FAQ for more information.
