How do I change installer code on a Honeywell L5200?
The default installer code for the Honeywell L5200 LYNX Touch alarm system is 4112. It is ok to leave this on default since the installer code can not disarm the alarm if it was armed by any other user code. Furthermore you can not access programming when the system is armed.
If you would like to change it you need to first enter the installer programming menu by executing the following: Security + More + Tools + Installer Code + Program. Enter the 'Installer Code' settings and clear out the current code and type in the desired installer code. Then click 'Done' in the bottom right and back out of programming. Verify the new installer code by accessing the installer programming menu again with new code this time.
Confident that you know your code but locked out programming? If your installer code allows you to see the 'Program' and 'Test' buttons after you enter the installer code but does not allow you into programming you have been locked out! If you are entering the wrong code it will simply bounce you back to the home screen. When you press the program button it does not launch the programming and simply does nothing? Follow these step by step instructions to get back into programming:
First, Reboot the panel.
Tools > Master Code > Test >Reboot
Press and hold the Home button (House icon beneath the touch screen) as soon as you see the white screen during reboot. This will be just after the scrolling Linux text.
Release the Home button when you see ‘Ready to Arm’ on a green bar across the screen.
Press and release ‘Security’ on the touchscreen.
Press and release ‘Arm Stay’ on the touchscreen.
A number pad will pop up. Enter ‘Clear’ followed by ‘00’.
Then press the program button and enter back into programming.
** Always say ‘Yes’ to allowing the installer to re-enter programming everytime you exit programming. By choosing 'No' you are locking yourself out of programming. Also make sure to verify your installer code before exiting. **
