How to use an Ademco 5878 keypad?

The Honeywell 5878 is a wireless wall plate alarm keypad. The 5878 functions similarly to wireless key fobs except it mounts onto a wall or other surface. It is the same size and shape as a standard electrical outlet or light switch wall plate. The 5878 has six buttons that can be programmed to arm the system, disarm the system, or perform other functions for your Honeywell security system . Because it does not require a code to be entered to disarm your security system, the 5878 should only be installed in a secure location, and not near an entry door.
