Yes, Alexa is compatible with the Lyric Security System. This is done through Total Connect 2.0. Any command that is sent from an Alexa device to the Lyric Alarm Controller will first pass through Total Connect 2.0. The Total Connect 2.0 Alexa Skill is needed to make this possible.

Amazon Alexa devices can provide commands for Honeywell Security Systems through Total Connect 2.0. To do this, the user must first enable the Total Connect 2.0 Skill on the Alexa App. They must then link their Total Connect account with their Alexa device. Any time the user provides a command for their Lyric System through their Amazon Alexa device, the corresponding command will be sent to the Total Connect 2.0 service. Total Connect 2.0 will then forward the command to the system. The system will then respond as if it had received the command directly from TC2.

There are several voice commands that a user can make through their Alexa device to operate their Lyric Alarm Controller. Some of these commands include arming the system and checking the system's current status. However, a user cannot disarm their Lyric System using an Alexa voice command. The Total Connect 2.0 Alexa Skill was designed this way on purpose. It would be a major security risk if an intruder could simply disarm the system by saying "Alexa, tell Honeywell to disarm."

Alexa devices can also interface with the Honeywell Lyric App. However, despite its name, this app is not designed to operate or manage the Lyric Controller. Instead, the Lyric App is used for controlling Lyric Thermostats and Honeywell IP Security Cameras. Since Alexa can be used to send commands to the Lyric App, Alexa devices are capable of operating with these devices. In other words, Alexa can connect with Lyric Thermostats and with Honeywell IP cameras. This is done by using the Honeywell Lyric Skill with Alexa. This is completely separate from the Total Connect 2.0 Alexa Skill.

In addition to Amazon Alexa, the Honeywell Lyric Security System is also compatible with Apple HomeKit. This is another excellent option for users who want to manage their Lyric System using voice commands.
