Is Honeywell 5853 compatible with a Honeywell L5100?

The Honeywell 5853 glass break detector (along with every other Honeywell 5800 series wireless sensor) is compatible with the Honeywell L5100 LYNX Touch wireless alarm panel. The internal microphone uses FlexGuard® detection to pick up not only the high frequency of breaking glass but the lower frequency associated with any brute impact on the window. The 5853 is equipped with a FlexCore™ signal processor which processes the sound of broken glass faster than even. FlexCore process sounds simultaneously in parallel allowing for 50% faster processing.

The 5853 is an extremely versatile device that has a 25 foot detection range and be used to protect several windows within that range. Ideal installation places the detector directly across from any protected windows at least 6.5 feet from the floor and at least 3.3 feet from forced air ducts or sirens/bells. There are heavy curtains, you should install the detector on the window casing between the curtain and the glass. This way the microphone is able to pick up direct audio from the window.

Glass break detector(s) are a great preventive intrusion device that will keep a possible burglar from ever entering the home. The speed of detection truly adds value that a traditional motion sensor just can not compete with.
