Is Qolsys IQ Panel 4 Compatible With 5800 Series Wireless Sensors?
The Qolsys IQ Panel 4, has a version that comes with the 345 MHz daughter card pre-installed. The daughter card is for support of Honeywell and 2GIG sensors. This version supports the 5800 series wireless sensors. Qolsys has a list of the compatible RF sensors for the IQ Panel 4.
The Qolsys IQ Panel 4 is a 7" All-In-One touchscreen alarm system. It has many modern features that seamlessly integrate with Z-Wave smart home devices, by way of its built-in Z-Wave Plus V2 controller. It is capable of supporting 128 zones and 242 users. All panels have a built-in dual-band WIFI communicator and come with either a Verizon or AT&T cellular communicator, which must be activated in order to use monitoring. It can be purchased in black or white, and comes in different "flavors", so you can continue to use any existing RF sensors when replacing an older wireless panel.
What we refer to as "flavors" are the various legacy RF receiver options available for the IQ Panel 4. These include the 319.5 MHz (Qolsys/GE/Interlogix) flavor, 345 MHz (Honeywell/2gig) flavor, and 433 MHz (DSC) flavor. All three (3) panel flavors that offer legacy RF receivers also support the 915 MHz PowerG frequency sensors. There is also a PowerG-only IQ Panel 4 kit that does not offer legacy receiver support. The panel in this kit is only available in white and also comes in either a Verizon or an AT&T version.

5800 series wireless sensors were made by Ademco, which became Honeywell, and now goes by the name Resideo. It operates at a 345 MHz wireless RF frequency. It is a widely used family of products. Many alarm users have these sensors already installed in their homes. For those that do, who are looking into upgrading to an IQ Panel 4, purchasing a system that supports 345 MHz RF allows you to keep your existing sensors.
The Qolsys IQ Panel 4 flavor with the 345 MHz frequency RF support is needed to support 5800 wireless sensors. The 319.5 MHz, 433 MHz, and PowerG-only flavors will not support 5800 series wireless sensors. The IQ4 345 version talks on the same 345 MHz frequency as 2GIG sensors as well. This will also allow you to add 2GIG's 345 MHz sensors to the same panel. To learn how to program these sensors into the IQ Panel 4, watch this video provided by Qolsys on adding legacy SRF sensors to the IQ Panel 4.
