If the system is not using TC2, then smart scenes can be created through SmartThings or through the panel. A SmartThings Hub supports Z-Wave Plus technology. This means that Z-Wave Plus devices can utilize their maximum range and battery life when they are paired with that hub. But a Lyric Controller does not support Z-Wave Plus. Setting up the Lyric as a secondary Z-Wave controller for SmartThings is a fairly simple process. Both the Lyric and the SmartThings Hub should be within 25 feet of each other during pairing. Open the SmartThings App, and press "+ Add a Thing". Then, starting from the main screen of the Lyric, choose Automation > down arrow > Tools > Advanced Tools > Master or Installer Code (defaults are 1234 and 4112 respectively) > Learn.
