Is the Peek-In Feature On Alarm.com Supported With the DSC PG9944?

Yes, the Peek-In feature on Alarm.com is supported with the DSC PG9944. The Peek-In Now feature allows you to manually request a photo from the PG9944 so that you can check-in on your home or office. You can activate the Peek-In Now feature from the Alarm.com website or mobile app.

The DSC PG9944 is a PowerG Image Sensor designed for use in an outdoor environment. It is used with security systems that support PowerG Sensors. As an image sensor, the PG9944 is essentially a still-image camera combined with a motion sensor. If the motion sensor detects movement and triggers an alarm on the system, then the PG9944 will take a photo. Assuming that the system is monitored and set up with Alarm.com, the image will be sent to that platform for the user to review. This can be very helpful for determining if a system alarm is legitimate or just false.

However, a user can also request a manual image from the PG9944 at any time. This is done using the Peek-In Now feature. Upon activating the feature, the PG9944 takes a photo and sends it to Alarm.com. Once Alarm.com receives the photo, it is then forwarded to recipients via text and/or email. A recipients list will need to be configured for this purpose. You can do this by logging into your Alarm.com account through a web browser. Choose Automation on the left-hand side. Then select Rules at the top if you aren't already in that sub-menu. Once you are in Rules, you should scroll down to Peek-Ins & Manual Image Uploads. Press the pencil icon within this field. Then scroll down to the Recipients section, and click the blue +Add button. You will be able to add existing recipients you have saved and add new ones if needed.
